Having a level of personal (or external) accountability that is detrimental to oneself or those around you.
What can Toxic Accountability look like?
- Verbally Berating oneself for not doing good enough, or learning a lesson
- Physically hitting oneself for a similar reason
- Giving up on something yoou love because your not “good enough”
How do we overcome Toxic Accountabilities?
- Set CLEAR and REALISTIC expectations of oneself
- Winning a match or getting a certain rank isn’t a real goal.
- Set goals that will help you improve as a player.
- Specify areas to improvement
